7 kg of heroin is found in a flat of Tajik national Tajik caught in Russia with around

Police in Kazan, the capital of the Russian Volga republic of Tatarstan, have confiscated more than 6.8 kg of heroin from a Tajik national, a local police source said on Thursday.

"On searching him, police found heroin. Also, drugs were found in a flat he rented. A total of over 6.8 kg of heroin was confiscated," the source told RIA Novosti.

Police are now establishing the origin of the drugs and its potential buyer.

Tajikistan is a major transit country for drugs from the world`s largest heroin producer, Afghanistan, to former Soviet republics including Russia and some Western countries.
