Kiev wants to start a relationship with NATO, in the project of An-70 airplane, said Secretary of the Council of national security and defence (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov.

An-70 cargo aircraft, as well as among them for military purposes, the development of which started in the USSR in 1978. 1st flight was made in 1994. Currently produced in Ukraine.

on Wednesday in Kiev on the mutual meeting of the working group of high level " Ukraine-NATO on military reform Turchynov said that the potential for the development of military-technical relations between the Alliance and Ukraine lies in the unification of the scientific and technical capabilities that will assist you to develop Ukraine in the sphere of defense.

"in this context I Wish to draw your interest to the very real possibility of a resumption of the overall project of An-70, which in the future will ensure the needs of our countries in strategic air transport," - said Turchinov.

last Wednesday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a resolution on termination of validity of the agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Russia on military-technical cooperation. The bill still must be signed by the head of Ukraine. It is planned that it will take effect from the day following the day of its promulgation in the official media.

in June of last year the head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, speaking at the meeting of the Council of national security and defence, has prohibited any military-technical cooperation with Russia.
