UN: over 2, 2 million people left Ukraine since April 2014
Olga Denisova. More than 2, 2 million people left Ukraine or become internally displaced since the conflict in the East of the country, according to a report by the office for the coordination of humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) of the United Nations.

the report covers the period up to may 29.

"at the time may 27, the number registered by the Ministry of social policy of internally displaced persons (IDPs) reached 1 315 625 people. Compared with last week, this figure has grown almost 16 thousand people. According to the Centre for monitoring of internally displaced persons (IDMC), Ukraine is located in a "leading" top ten countries by number of IDPs, " the report read.

Also, increase in the number of Ukrainian citizens who have fled to neighboring countries.

"over the past two weeks this number has exceeded 10 thousand people. This means that from April 2014, More than 2, 2 million Ukrainians, including registered IDPs and those who have left the country, had to leave their homes because of the conflict, " reads the report.
