Rada ratified the Memorandum of a secure line of communication
The Verkhovna Rada on Thursday ratified a Memorandum of understanding between Ukraine and the European law enforcement officials office in respect of the establishment of a secure line of communication.

The decision on the meeting of Parliament supported 294 parliamentarians with the necessary minimum of 226 votes.

The Memorandum was signed by the Ukrainian side eleven March in Kiev, and a party of Europol - 19 March in the Hague. The signing of the Treaty between Ukraine and the Europol on operational cooperation enabled by the European Commission in the action plan for Ukraine on visa liberalization with the European Union.

"The entry into force of the Memorandum will allow you to establish National contact point for cooperation with European law enforcement officials office secure communication channel SIENA between Ukraine and Europol to exchange information through this channel because of the agreement on strategic cooperation (entered into force 16 November 2010)" - written in the explanatory paper to the document.

At the moment time a secure communication channel Europol SIENA installed in all member States of the EU, and likewise in countries outside the EU (Australia, Canada, USA, Iceland, Norway, Monaco, Switzerland, Turkey, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova) and international organizations.
