The head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has signed a Law that creates additional mechanisms of protection of the rights of citizens who had deposits in operating in the Crimea Ukrainian banks. The document is available on the official Internet portal of legal information on the first day of the week.

The law provides the opportunity to offset requirements on deposits exceeding the standard amount of 700 thousand Rubles., contributions of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Fund of protection of depositors (established by Agency on insurance of contributions). These contributions will be funded by the sale of property confiscated from Ukrainian credit organizations in the Crimea. Payments will be possible only upon confirmation by the depositor of its claims.

Compensation payments to 100 thousand Rubles. will be able to get investors of the Ukrainian credit institutions deposits placed from 2 April 2014 until the adoption by the Bank of Russia decision to stop the activities of their offices. Similar payments will go to those who do not have a full set of documents confirming the existence of any outstanding obligations, and For citizens of other Russian regions, had deposits in the units of the Ukrainian credit organizations in the Crimea.
