Supporters of Berlusconi raised the question of lifting sanctions against Russia
Sergey Startsev. People's deputies from the party "Forward, Italy" showed on Thursday a draft decision of the Chamber of deputies of the Italian Parliament aimed at ending sanctions policy toward Russia.

"We are announcing a submission from a group of" Forward, Italy " decision against punishment relative to Russia. Italy must be a bridge of peace between the EU, USA and Russia. Yesterday it was one of the topics discussed during the visit of the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, "- said at a press conference in Rome the head of the group of the party "Forward, Italy" in the Chamber of deputies, the former Minister Renato Brunetta (Renato Brunetta).

According to a prominent politician, the content of the draft decision was presented by the leader and founder of the party, former Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi. In the next few hours the appropriate document will be transferred to the office of the Chamber of deputies. Brunette noticed that supporters of Berlusconi would like to hold a parliamentary debate on the question under consideration before the meeting of the EU Council at the level of heads of States and governments, which will take place on June 25-26. At this summit it is planned to adopt an opinion on the extension of anti-Russian sanctions from the EU.

Initiative submission to the parliamentary decision against anti-Russian sanctions is owned by Berlusconi, who said about it on Wednesday evening after his meeting with Putin in Rome's Fiumicino airport.


Western countries since March 2014 several times already imposed penalties because Russia's position on Ukraine. The last case of the use of such practices were the limits imposed in March 2015, when expanded sanctions List of the USA.
