Poroshenko has hopes that EU financial assistance would be forthcoming in Kiev
The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko hopes that the 1st tranche of allocated EU loan in 1 8 billion euros will go to Kiev in the near future.

The Verkhovna Rada on Thursday ratified a Memorandum with the European Union, which provides for the granting Ukraine a loan of 1, 8 billion euros. According to the Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine Artem Shevelev, the Memorandum envisages the allocation of funds in three tranches of ? 600 million.

"We expect that the 1st tranche of the current third program of macro-financial assistance will go to Ukraine in the nearest future ", - said Poroshenko at a joint press conference with European Commissioner for neighbourhood policy and enlargement negotiations Johannes Hahn.

According to eurokomisara, transfer of funds may take place in the coming weeks." I am sure that in a few weeks We will be able to provide Ukraine with 1st tranche in the framework of this package (macro-financial assistance) in the amount of 600 million euros, " said Khan.

The EU and Ukraine within the framework of the Riga summit of the Eastern partnership in may signed the statement of understanding on the allocation of the EU approved before the 3rd package of macro-financial assistance to the country worth up to 1, 8 billion euros. According to Poroshenko, the money is not going to conduct special operations in the Donbass.
