The head of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at a meeting with foreign businessmen assured them that the Russian Federation is interested in peace in Ukraine, and it has nothing to do with the fact that the country is under sanctions, told reporters the 1st Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, who participated in the meeting.

"One of the speakers casually said that you (Russia) have expressed early interest in the world because you're under punishment, and the Manager said that we had expressed interest in the world not because we are under the punishment, but because we have great connections with Ukrainians, citizens die there, and most Russians want peace in Ukraine, and not because we are under sanctions," - said Shuvalov.
