The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in February passed a law which provides for the deprivation of Yanukovych honorary title. Yesterday, the law came into force.

"The current leader of Ukraine has decided to show the world that the law is to him above all else. But he seems overworked. Respect unconstitutional this law is tantamount to an admission of dismissal of Yanukovych from power, bypassing the procedure of impeachment, coup, and so there is no doubt, " said the Klintsevich correspondents.

Poroshenko in his own inquiry to the constitutional court emphasizes that Rada adopted the law violates the constitutional provision according to which the title of the President of Ukraine is protected by legislative act and is kept for him forever, if only the head had not been removed from office via impeachment.

Yanukovych was deposed as President of Ukraine in February 2014 after the coup. The Verkhovna Rada ousted him from power, changed the Constitution and called early presidential elections, the results of which became the new President Poroshenko. The impeachment regarding Yanukovych was not carried out.
