NATO will review its nuclear doctrine The NATO powers are going to reconsider their own nuclear doctrine in the light of events in Ukraine, and more recent actions of Moscow, reports in the English press. This issue was discussed on the sidelines of the summit of defense Ministers of the Alliance, which ends in Brussels.

Nuclear strategy of NATO may be subjected to revision: this issue will be discussed at the Ministerial level in the current quarter. According to reliable information sources, to make this decision, the Alliance has pushed the situation in Ukraine and the aggravation of relations with Russia.

A number of diplomats and the followers of the NATO fears that today's doctrine was irrelevant because it was designed in the days when Russia was seen as a possible partner unit. However at the moment the situation has changed, and many believe that strategy it's time to reconsider.

Also, a lot of the noise caused in NATO and the statement by President Vladimir Putin that Russia is going to put into service 40 newest ballistic missiles. Like Moscow's actions aroused the concern of the Western bloc and prompted the discussion about the response, according to the English newspaper the Guardian.

Question about changing doctrine was discussible on the sidelines of the two-day summit of NATO defence Ministers, which takes place on 24-25 June in Brussels. More all for a speedy resolution of this issue insist the United States: Washington encourages partners to block discussion at the ad hoc group on nuclear weapons, a meeting which will be held in the current quarter as previously planned.

It is assumed that at the upcoming meeting will discuss the possibility of expanding the role of nuclear weapons in NATO exercises. Military leaders also are going to decide serious domestic nuclear threat or it needs to be treated just as sharp rhetoric.
