Novak: calls EU to diversify gas is politically motivated
Calls for diversification of energy supplies, sounding in the EU are politically motivated, they are directed against Russia, said the Minister of energy Alexander Novak.

"of course, we listen to them. But it's politically motivated promises aimed against Russia. In the end, Europe eventually will need more gas, this ekologicheski appropriate. And with our gas we are competitive, and politics should not interfere in the Affairs of the economy, " said Novak in conversation economic edition, released on Thursday.

in June "Gazprom" has signed with German E. ON, the Anglo-Dutch Shell and Austria's OMV memoranda of intent providing for the cooperation on the project of creation of a gas transportation infrastructure for the direct delivery of Russian gas to European consumers. The parties have plans to build two pipelines from the coast of Russia across the Baltic sea to the German coast. The performance of a new pipeline with the name " Nord stream-2 will be 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year." Northern stream-2 on a plan will be put into use before the end of 2019

Novak has denied the allegation, according to which the new project only aims to stop the transit of gas from Russia through Ukraine.
