Rescuers continue extinguishing the peat fires in the Chernobyl exclusion area on 14 hectares: it remains to eliminate four of the hearth, informs the state service of Ukraine for emergency situations.

on the first day of the week, June 29, within the forest complex economy "Chernobyl forest" started a fire of dry grass and reeds that spread individual lesions on the area of 130 hectares. Several lesions were documented burning of grass, reeds and peat, herbal fire has turned to eliminate, peat - localized.

"as of 7 hours (the time coincides with Moscow time) on July 4, burning grass flooring eliminated in all six cells. Continues quenching residues localized foci of smoldering peat close to the villages Kovilovo, Glinka, Old Krasnitsa and Lubyanka on a total area of 14 hectares, " - said in the report.

As noted, in days eliminated the burning of 12 hectares. To extinguish the fire brought 20 pieces of various mechanisms and 113 people.
