Concert of the orchestra "Silver strings" under the baton of Alexander Afanasyev was held with great success on the first day of the week in the building of the Russian Embassy in Germany.

The orchestra performed more than ten works of Russian, Soviet and European composers, as well as Russian folk song. Unique sound was achieved through the great skill of the musicians, but also because of the fusion of European and Russian folk musical instruments, which is famous "Silver strings" in the world.

After the first performance of a musical composition - Overture from the Suite "Time, forward" by Georgy Sviridov - students staged musicians of long standing ovation after each part of the program.

The concert takes place in difficult times, including the situation in the negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, the situation in Greece and Ukraine, the more important events in the field of culture, which always bring our peoples closer together, said representative of the Russian Embassy, who opened the show.

The orchestra is made up of 28 musicians and soloists who are studying or have graduated in musical educational institutions of St. Petersburg. Previous tour in Berlin "Silver strings" held in 2008.
