Gazprom is now planning two projects of construction of gas pipelines bypassing Ukraine - Nord stream-2 pipeline system through the Baltic sea and the " Turkish stream pipeline in the Black sea. All this happens against the background of statements of the Russian Side about the intention not to prolong the contract with Ukraine on gas transit through its territory to Europe after 2019. The volume of transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine in 2014 decreased by 28% to 62, 2 billion cubic meters.

"If they (the plans of Russia - ed.) will be materialized, it will be a kind of duplication of existing infrastructure facilities for transportation of Russian gas to the European Union," he told reporters in Brussels. ?ef?ovi? also noticed that the existing infrastructure is not used by more than 60%, and this calls into question the economic viability of energy projects of the Russian Federation in the European Union. ?ef?ovi? believes in this regard that the Russian Federation is guided in the 1st turn, not economic, and political considerations.

The project "Turkish stream" involves the construction of a gas pipeline with a capacity of 63 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Russia to Turkey across the Black sea. The pipeline length of about 1, 1 thousand kilometers will consist of 4 strands and bring to the Turkish-Greek border to 47 billion cubic meters of gas. It is planned that on the border of Turkey and Greece gas hub will be created, and EU countries are obliged on their own to implement gas transmission capacities for the further reception of this gas on its territory. The first gas supply through the pipeline was planned in the early winter of 2016.
