Head the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Ireland Pavlo Klimkin and Charles Flanagan at the talks in Kiev stressed the important role of the OSCE in the Donbass and advocated its extension, informs on Thursday the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry of foreign Affairs following the meeting.

"Discussing the implementation of the Minsk agreements, the participants of the meeting emphasized the important role of the OSCE in the Donbass region, expressed the need for its strengthening and expansion ", - is informed in the report.

Ukrainian Minister thanked his counterpart for the support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, informed about the developments in the Donbas.

According to the Ukrainian foreign Ministry, foreign Minister of Ireland said the need to maintain a consolidated position of the EU in support of Ukraine.

"The Irish Minister drew attention that the lifting of the EU sanctions against Russia is possible only on the results of the full implementation of the Minsk agreements. Charles Flanagan confirmed the readiness of Ireland to develop and deepen bilateral cooperation with Ukraine, to provide the necessary support in carrying out the reforms ", - informs the Ministry.

The Ukrainian authorities began in April last year in the Donbass military operation against dissatisfied with the coup d'etat of residents of the region. According to the summary data of the UN, the victims of the conflict were about 6, 5 thousand people. The settlement of the situation in the Donbass is discussed, as well as among them, during meetings in Minsk contact group, which since September of last year already took 3 of the document governing the steps to de-escalate the conflict.
