The Ministry of energy of Ukraine has hopes to supply electricity to the Crimea in the winter
The Minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Volodymyr demchyshyn did not rule out the possibility of switch-off of Ukraine's electric power to Crimea in winter, but nourishes the hope that it will be protected.

"I think that all falls under one comb, I hope that we will be able to provide (power to Crimea - ed.), the money we received for the purchase of coal," said Demchyshyn, answering a question of the correspondent, whether Ukraine will turn off electricity to Crimea in winter, if it's a complicated situation.

Demchyshyn said that Crimea consumes fifteen million kilowatts of electrical energy per day, equivalent to 6-7 thousand tons of coal.

As stated before, at peak hours, the Peninsula 80-90% dependent on the supply of electric energy from Ukraine.
