The draft law "On the prohibition of political advertising" registered national people's deputies of the faction "Self-help" Yegor Sobolev and Oleg Berezyuk, as well as the leader of the Radical party Oleg Lyashko.

As underlined in the explanatory paper to the law, posted on the official Internet representation of the Parliament, the purpose of the bill is the introduction of the ban on advertising of political parties, as well as establishing the limits of pre-election promotion (political advertising) parties and candidates to the post of President of Ukraine, people's deputies, deputies of local councils, candidates for the position of village, settlement and city mayors in the media and on outdoor advertisement.

The objective of this bill is the trim conditions for campaigning for all candidates, regardless of the size of electoral funds, decreasing the influence of the most financially wealthy politicians, businessmen on the results of the elections and the creation of public authorities in Ukraine, as well as the protection of pluralism in the media.

Autumn in Ukraine will be held local elections, they will be held on October 25. The first Parliament of Ukraine adopted the law that defines the rules for local elections. Now the oblast, city and district councils will be elected by proportional representation with the so-called open lists, and the election of people's deputies of village and settlement councils - the majority system of relative majority.
