The Governor of Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili said he did not want to provoke the Russian Federation.

"I am of course in Odessa'm not in order to provoke the Russian Federation. It was never my goal, It does not have the opportunity to be my goal. We are in Odessa together with our Ukrainian team in order to make reforms, to push reforms in a particular region, " Saakashvili said on air of the Ukrainian TV channel on the first day of the week.

first it was announced that Saakashvili decided to appoint as his Deputy for the social sphere Maria Gaidar. Consent Gaidar to the workplace in Ukraine provoked sharp criticism in Russia. Later Gaidar said on air of the "First city" Odessa TV channel that wrote the message about the refusal of Russian citizenship.

Saakashvili was appointed the Odessa Governor on may 30. He left Georgia after the inauguration of the new President Giorgi Margvelashvili in November 2013.
