The court refused the protection of Yanukovych in the appeal
The Kyiv Court of appeals refused the protection of the ex-President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych in the consideration of the appeal complaint to the decision of Pechersky regional court authorizing pre-trial correspondence concerning the former head of the country.

The Pechersky regional court at the end of July has satisfied the petition of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine and authorized the correspondence procedure pre-trial investigation on the case of illegal appropriation of state funds, where the suspect goes Yanukovych. The consequence suspects that at the direction of the former President in the state budget were improperly amended, because this has happened illegally funded the construction of a dedicated telecommunications network pouches.

"The court decided not to hear the defenders in the case. An appeal was filed, we were summoned before the Court for consideration of the case on the present. The case was not. The court de facto refused to review the case, citing the fact that this definition is not contested, " said Tuesday correspondents lawyer Yanukovych Vitaliy Serdyuk.

the lawyer said that the defense will appeal initially to the Higher specialized court of Ukraine on consideration of civil and criminal cases, and also considers possible appeal to the European court of human rights.

Yanukovych was elected President of Ukraine on 25 February 2010 for a five year term. However, on 22 February 2014 in the country there was a coup. The Verkhovna Rada ousted him from power, changed the Constitution and appointed a may special election, the results of which became the new President Petro Poroshenko. Yanukovych was forced to leave the country. After the coup d'etat fresh authorities instituted a number of criminal cases against former bureaucrats.
