The Ukrainian government can increase the minimum wage
The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of social policy of Ukraine is considering the possibility of increasing the minimum wage for residents in 2015, said Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

The law on state budget for 2015 provides for the indexation of social benefits only in the beginning of winter. In the past year, the indexation was carried out. Today the minimum wage is 1, 218 thousand hryvnia (About $ 55) and the minimum pension - 949 UAH ($43). The Ukrainian government is seeking funds to conduct the indexation before deadlines.

"The Ministry of Finance together with the Ministry of social policy since last week I hope the possibility of increasing the minimum wage this year ", - said Yatsenyuk on Wednesday at a meeting of the government.

The Prime Minister added that raising the minimum wage is obliged to apply to all sectors of the Ukrainian economy, both public and private.
