Fashion social network Twitter has abolished the limitation of 140 characters. However, this applies only to private messages in the public section of the microblogging service, it remains the same.

It tells the press service of Twitter in Russia, users will now be able to communicate with each other in the microblog without any restrictions. Social network cancels a limit of 140 characters in private messages (direct messages). Pack entered into force on 12 August on all platforms: in versions of Twitter for Android and iOS, on the web site twitter.com in applications TweetDeck and Twitter for Mac.

The limitation to 140 characters will be retained only for personal messages to be sent and received via SMS. With all of this firm Twitter recommends its own users to update the app for different platforms to the latest version.

Note that in recent times, Twitter has made several changes in the work of their own messages to make them more comfortable. Since April it has been possible to hear from any users regardless of whether you're following each other or not. Also, in early February, the company introduced the feature of group chat in their own news.
