Demchyshyn: Kiev may decide again to start importing gas from Russia
Minister of energy of Ukraine Volodymyr Demchyshyn has acknowledged that the country in the winter in case of extreme cold cannot do without gas from Russia, and I am sure that Kiev in the near future will report on the recovery of imports from Russia.

After another unsuccessful tripartite gas talks on 30 June Ukraine has suspended the purchase of gas from Russia to agree on the terms of delivery and currently receives gas only in reverse from Europe. At the same time Ukraine is actively seeking funds for the purchase of gas for injection into underground storage facilities for the coming winter.

"I am convinced that the conclusion about the restoration of Russian gas supplies will be made in the near future. Last year, the Russian direction worked, and it was not necessary to raise the daily fuel from storage to the maximum volume. Accordingly, no large supply (gas in storage - ed.), " said Demchyshyn in the interview to the Ukrainian weekly, published on the Internet representation of the publication on the last working day of the week.

according to him, If the Russian side will offer an adequate price and supply assurance, Kiev will receive the gas at the same time from three sources - the reverse from Europe 60 million cubic meters per day, from Russia 114 million cubic meters per day, and 55 million cubic meters per day - at the expense of own production. In this case, According to the Minister, Ukraine will close its needs and will not be able to spend the gas from underground storage facilities.

"If the winter is very cold, will need to flow from the Russian Federation. We can go through the winter without Russian gas, but If it doesn't get extreme temperatures. In extreme cold, no matter what the volume will be in UGS, even if all 30 billion cubic meters. At very low temperatures, the need will increase so that the speed of the lifting gas from storage will be insufficient, " said Demchyshyn. Also, according to his statement, without supplies from Russia to inject 19 billion cubic meters of gas in storage " in fact impossible."

Demchyshyn is confident that Ukraine and Russia will come to a consensus on gas issues." If gas supplies from Russia still will not need to rely on a force majeure scenario ", - said the Minister.
