The Russian made a selfie in outer space Russian astronaut Gennady Padalka made a selfie during a spacewalk. This image was published in the official social networks of Roscosmos.

The spacewalk took place on August 10. Gennady Padalka and Mikhail Kornienko were engaged in cleansing one of the hatches of the service module from the outside and install additional soft walkways for easy access to space. Among other things they took bacterial samples from the hull.

Note that Padalka made 10 EVAs (beyond the space station) and 1 in a "closed space" (in the depressurized Spektr module of Mir. - Approx. ed.) joint longer than 38 hours. Also, he broke the world record for total time spent in space. The previous record in addition belongs to a resident of Russia: 10 years ago Sergei Krikalev has spent 803 days.

The latest world record for human presence in space was set in the night of June 29. During the own 5th space flight Padalka conducted on orbit for 828 days. Private 1st flight air force Colonel and Hero of Russia was carried out in 1999.
