FCS proposes to introduce criminal penalties for the importation of food sanctions

MOSCOW, 20 Jan - RIA Novosti/Prime. The Federal customs service of the Russian Federation is drafting a decree which provides for the imposition of liability under the criminal code for illegal imports of items included in the list of the food embargo Russia, according to a document posted on the Internet office of legal information.

Russia in the last month of summer 2014 limited the import of food items from countries that have entered against her punishment: USA, EU, Canada, Australia and Norway. The ban covers meat, sausages, fish and seafood, vegetables, fruits, dairy products. In June 2015, in response to the extension of the sanctions Russia has extended food embargo for one year, until August 5, 2016.
