Roshen is suing plant in Siberia brand " Vanilla sky "
Ukrainian confectionery Corporation Roshen, owned by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has demanded in Court for intellectual property rights (SIP) stop legal protection in the Russian Federation trademark Vanilla sky /Vanilla Sky registered JSC " Novosibirsk company ", the information on the Internet office of the court.

The plaintiff asks to remove the registration for a part of the objects of the 30th class of the international classification of items and services, which includes, among them coffee, tea, sugar, rice, bakery products, confectionary, ice-cream. Review Roshen, the Respondent does not use its brand for three years or more. Under Russian law, a person challenging the registration of a trademark shall be obliged to prove in Court their interest in its use.

SIP on Thursday postponed the main hearing of the case on October 20, the reasons for postponement of the proceedings until not known. Before the Commissioner of the Novosibirsk company said in Court about the possibility of resolving the dispute peacefully.
Roshen is one of the world's largest manufacturers of confectionery products, producing 450 thousand tons per year. The Corporation consists of a factory in the Ukraine, in Lithuania, Hungary and Russia. Poroshenko, in putting forward a candidate for President of Ukraine, made the promise in case of a victory on elections to sell their main asset, however, as long as it was not.
