The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said he had agreed with the European Union's possible participation of Ukraine in the establishment of the energy Union in the EU.
"We agreed to further explore the potential of diversification of gas supplies to Ukraine, and among them the involvement of Ukraine in the creation of the energy Union, the EU as a possible option for our energy cooperation ", ? the words Poroshenko RIA " Novosti ".



The share of Russian gas on the European market is now about 30%. The export of "Gazprom" in foreign countries according to the results of 2014 decreased by 9 per cent to 147 billion cubic meters with 162, 7 billion in 2013. The EU has been a policy to reduce energy dependence on gas supplies from Russia. The last tangible result of this was the refusal of the Russian Federation on realisation of the construction of a gas pipeline across the Black sea, South stream. Instead the conclusion was made about the construction of the gas pipeline " Turkish stream ", which crosses the Black sea and will bring gas from Russia to the Turkish-Greek border. Further EU countries are obliged to develop their own infrastructure for reception and distribution of natural gas from this pipeline. In the EU there is now an emerging energy Union, which, really, is obliged to confront Russia's position as the main exporter of energy resources in the European Union and to make the EU more volatile.
