The Ministry of defense of the United States decided to create a powerful IT-division, composed of the best experts of reputable companies that allow you to create new kinds of gadgets, and possibly weapons. For these purposes, the Pentagon has assembled under his wing adherents Apple and Boeing.

The ambitious project is called FlexTech Alliance. Its budget will exceed 165 million dollars. The Pentagon announced the creation of a consortium of 162 leading technology companies, laboratories and universities in the United States. Officially, the main purpose of the project, which was called FlexTech Alliance, is the growth of new kinds of gadgets, such as a flexible wearable electronics. But experts doubt that all the new consortium will be peaceful in nature.

The American military does not hide the fact that developed gadgets and electronics in the end will be used in airplanes, devices for health monitoring of military, army devices and technology, and yet, perhaps, in consumer electronics. One of the objectives of the Pentagon and FlexTech is the creation of a network for the production of wearable electronics throughout the United States.

It is known that in FlexTech Alliance included such companies as Apple, Boeing, GE, GM, Lockheed Martin, Motorola Mobility and Qualcomm, says the portal 3DNews. Among research organizations and higher educational institutions of the consortium includes Cornell University, Harvard University, Stanford University, new York University and Massachusetts Institute of scientific and technical Institute.

The Pentagon has allocated for research FlexTech Alliance for 5 years 75 million. Another $ 90 million will go to the needs of the consortium from other sources, including institutions, nonprofit organizations, and state and local governments. These funds will be distributed to members of Flex on a competitive basis taking into account the opinions of experts. On execution of each project will be allocated a specific time frame.
