The criminal proceedings concerning Wasserman initiated at the request of the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Alexey Goncharenko. In a statement Goncharenko in the SBU reported that Wasserman takes in relation to Ukraine "sustainable separatist position" and agitate " them to commit actions aimed at remedying the constitutional system, the correction of borders of the territory and the state border of Ukraine ".
