Twenty-five candidates filed Papers for the 1st day of registration for the elections in the breakaway Donetsk people's Republic, told reporters the Commissioner of the Central election Commission of the DPR.

"Ended day 1 of the acceptance of documents from candidates. Today we had 25 people who have filed their Papers for promotion to the position of local chapters. Candidates were nominated by the cities of Torez, Donetsk region, Makeevka, Donetsk and Slavyansk. The documents were sent for review, and on the first day of the week we expect a response from the interior Ministry. Candidates were submitted by the public movement "Free Donbass" and "Donetsk Republic," said CEC Commissioner.

Local elections in the DNR are required to complete 18 October. The head of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko have said before, that Donetsk and Lugansk are obliged to dispense with the holding of local elections, and tried to convince them to immediately begin discussions on the modalities of their conduct according to the Ukrainian laws. The Ukrainian Government has appointed elections to Local authorities on 25 October.
