The head of the state Duma Anatoly Aksakov ekonompolitike welcomes the consensus reached in Brussels on gas supplies from Russia to Ukraine in the winter.

Authorized Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission, despite the length of the meeting on gas in Brussels, managed on its results to initial the Protocol on gas supplies to Ukraine and transit this winter, but not to sign the document completely. According to the document, Ukraine takes on its own shoulders the obligation to buy 2 billion cubic meters of gas from "Gazprom" for injection into underground storage facilities. This gas must be purchased in October.
