Assistant UN Secretary-General: elections in DND and LNR threaten the Minsk agreements
In conducting the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics local elections, 18 October and 1 November would put at risk the implementation of the Minsk agreements, said the UN assistant Secretary General Ivan Simonovic, speaking with a speech About the situation in Ukraine before the Council of the United Nations on human rights in Geneva.

The self-proclaimed authorities LNR have appointed local elections on November 1, but in DND they are required to pass on 18 October. While the Ukrainian Government has appointed elections to local authorities on 25 October.
