Rada adopted a law allowing foreigners to serve under the contract in armed forces of Ukraine
The Verkhovna Rada at a meeting on Tuesday adopted in the common law, which allows foreigners under contract to serve in the armed forces of Ukraine.

The decision on Tuesday was supported by 229 MPs with the necessary minimum of 226 votes. The document shall be signed by the head of Ukraine. It is planned that it will take effect from the day following the day of its promulgation in the official media.

in the explanatory paper to the document notes that with the establishment on a voluntary basis of special forces of Ukraine and battalions on the East of the country, their forces began to arrive citizens of foreign countries with military experience, some of which, despite the lack of legal grounds, accept and participate in the fighting. Along with this, the current law of Ukraine does not provide for passing of military service by aliens.

the document notes that International practice recognizes the right of foreigners for service under the contract in lawful military formations outside the country.

"the citizens of foreign countries and persons without citizenship have the opportunity to be accepted into military service in armed forces (AF) of Ukraine for contract privates, sergeants and petty composition," according to the law. Provides that for military service under the contract will be taken before convicted foreign citizens and stateless persons who are in Ukraine on legal grounds and meet the necessary requirements of military service.

According to the document, accepted on military service under the contract of foreigners is established probationary period is two months. They are also obliged to take the oath before entering the service. In the law it is reported that receiving foreigners and persons without citizenship officer military ranks of the armed forces of Ukraine can be only after obtaining the citizenship of Ukraine.
