The head of the Ministry of defence of Latvia Raimonds Bergmanis saw in the UK the decision about sending their soldiers to the Baltic States perspective on long-term presence of NATO forces in the area.

"I welcome the decision of the UK to connect to the allies in the Baltic States. This is an opportunity to make a conclusion about the long-term presence at the conference (NATO - ed.) in 2016, " wrote Bergmanis on Thursday in own Twitter.
