The scientists grew in the test tube the adult brain American scientists have made a major breakthrough in genetics. Professionals from the Institute of biological research Salk in California were the first to grow in vitro adult brain.

New development can help the earth's population in the fight against Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's and other pathologies of the brain.

In an article published in the journal Cell, explains that a group of scientists from the Salk Institute, using unique technology, was able to turn skin cells into neurons and create induced neuron. In brain cells, grown with the help of this method, geneticists have identified age-related changes.

A revolutionary development, which allowed to grow the adult brain is contained in the fact that the geneticist was obtained from samples of skin using stem cells, thanks to direct conversion, to preserve the expression of genes in neurons. As a result, depending on the age of the donor gene expression in cultured cells differed.

"It's amazing, but we managed to keep the symptoms of age-related changes in cells. This allows to investigate the effect of aging on the brain, opening and exploring new facets of this, no doubt, the original human body. We hope to get answers to many questions regarding the physiological and molecular processes occurring in the brain," says 1 from governing research Dr. Fred gage.

As scientists expect, the fresh development is able to help the population in the fight against Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's and other diseases that manifest in old age. In addition, this development can afford to grow and explore the cells of the adult heart or liver that will help in the fight against pathologies in these organs.
