Currently in China smoke, about two-thirds of the representatives of the stronger sex. The bulk of them are addicted to tobacco in their Teens. With all of this, only 9% heavy smokers abandon their habit. The number of Smoking women, on the contrary, decreases more vigorously. So, at the moment only 10% of older women living in China and 1% of middle-aged women smoke.

Meanwhile, the fight against Smoking in the country is complicated by the political situation. The government monopolized the tobacco market: it brings up to 7% of the single earnings of the country. Also, in China it is widely believed that Asians are not as susceptible to Smoking-related diseases and can just give up this habit. With all this in China are quite common lung diseases even among non-smokers the result of high levels of air pollution and frequent fires in rural areas.
