Ukraine did not wait for consultations with the Russian side any substantive conversations about what worries Moscow on the establishment of the free trade area (FTA) with the European Union (EU), said Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

The FTA between Ukraine and the EU, the formation of which is stipulated by the Association agreements with them, should operate in full on 1 January. Russia expresses concern in connection with the entry into effect of the provisions of the FTA and talks about fears of an influx of duty free items from the EU through Ukraine.

"We have held 7 rounds of consultations, both political and technical, on implementing the Treaty on the free trade area, and We have not heard from the citizens of Russia not a single substantive conversation about the fact that so frightens the Russian economy," - said Yatsenyuk on the last working day of the week at a press conference in Berlin.

He again assured that the FTA agreement with the EU will be effective from 1 January 2016, and Russia, like any other country, has no right of veto on the bilateral relations of Ukraine with the European Union. Yatsenyuk said that the agreement aims at development of economic relations between Ukraine and the EU and is not related to the interaction of the Kiev Russia.
