The mayor of Kharkiv Gennady Kernes voted in the elections to the local authorities, have informed on Sunday local.

it is stated that after the vote Kernes sure that he will be able to win a victory on elections of the head in the first round. Also Kernes believes that the party "Vidrodzhennya" ( "Revival" ), which he is a member, will receive the largest number of mandates in the regional and city councils.

Local elections are held in Ukraine on Sunday on the new electoral law. Regional, city and district councils will be elected under the proportional system with open lists, and elections of deputies of village and settlement councils - the majority system of relative majority. The results must be determined before November 4 and made public for five days, and in the case of the 2nd round of elections of the mayor in the big cities - not later than November 20.
