Observers of Ukraine and Canada assume from 26 to 30 October to perform observation flight over the territory of Russia during the Treaty on open skies, said the head of the national center for reducing nuclear danger Sergey Ryzhkov.

during the flight, Russian Experts will monitor compliance with control rules.

"in the period from 26 to 30 October 2015 from the implementation of the international Treaty on open skies, a joint mission of Canada and Ukraine will perform observation flight over the territory of the Russian Federation on the canadian aircraft C-130J," said Ryzhkov.

As emphasized in the Ministry of defence, aircraft control C-130J is not equipped to carry and use any weapon.

The open skies Treaty is a multilateral international Treaty, signed on 24 March 1992 in Helsinki by representatives of 23 member countries of the OSCE. The purpose of the Agreement is to promote confidence-building among States through improvement of mechanisms for monitoring military activities and compliance with existing treaties in the field of supervision of weapons. The Treaty establishes a regime of open skies, which aims to provide the opportunity for its attendees to conduct overflights of the territories of one another. To date, parties to the Treaty are found in 33 countries. The Russian Federation ratified the Treaty on open skies on may 26, 2001.
