The sub-working group on political problems of the situation settlement in Eastern Ukraine met in Minsk, informs on the first day of the week the foreign Ministry of Belarus.

first of Luhansk information center, citing a source close to the negotiations, reported that representatives of the political subgroup of the contact group on settling the situation in Donbas will meet in Minsk in the 2nd part of the day, is expected to discuss the law on local elections in the Donbass.




The previous meeting of the contact group and its subgroups took place in Minsk on 20 October. Over the past period of time of regular meetings of the contact group yield tangible results. The parties could come to a consensus about the withdrawal from the separation line of the parties at the Donbass weapons up to a caliber of 100 millimeters and tanks.

The Ukrainian authorities in April of last year began military action against the self-proclaimed LNR and DND. According to the final data of the UN, the victims of the conflict began more than 8 thousand people. The settlement of the situation in the Donbas region is discussed, as well as among them, during meetings in Minsk the contact group, which since September of last year had already taken 3 of the document, regulating the steps to de-escalate the conflict.
