UN: nearly 60 million people worldwide are internally displaced
About 60 million people worldwide today have to leave their permanent places of residence because of different emergencies, said the head of the regional office of the United Nations office for the coordination of humanitarian Affairs for the Caucasus, Central Asia And Ukraine, Marcel Wassen.

UN Commissioner expressed Thursday at a meeting of Directors of educational institutions and rescue services of the CSTO countries, held in the capital of Russia on the base of Academy of state fire service of EMERCOM of Russia.

"There are a couple of numbers that I wish to demonstrate. 100 million is at the moment the number of people that are suffering worldwide from a variety of conflict situations And natural disasters. And of these, About 60 million - are internally displaced persons, " said Wassen.

according to his statement, this includes citizens who have been displaced as a result of different natural disasters, And risk their lives in the process of armed conflict.

"now we know these situations in various locations, as well as among them in the Syrian Arab Republic or in the East of Ukraine, where citizens moved through the ground in Russia.
