The SBU opened a case against Berlusconi for visiting Crimea
The security service of Ukraine (SBU) has opened a case under the criminal code regarding ex-Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi due to his visit to Crimea in September, said Deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada on issues of human rights Georgy Logvynsky.
"about Mr. Berlusconi's criminal proceedings in Ukraine. Regardless of status, position, we'll pull each, and Mr Berlusconi is not the exception, " he said, reports news Agency.



The former Prime Minister of Italy formulated a guilty verdicts in accordance with paragraph " illegal transportation through the state border of Ukraine "." Such actions are punishable from five to eight years of punishment with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in certain activities for a term up to three years and confiscation of vehicles ", - summed up Logvynsky. In early autumn, on the personal initiative of the leader of the Italian political party " Forward, Italy!", ex-Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi visited the Crimea with a private visit, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Ministry of foreign Affairs criticized the visit of Putin and Berlusconi, and the SBU has banned Berlusconi from entering Ukraine for a period of 3 years. In Crimea on March 16 of last year held a referendum on the status of autonomy, more 96% of participants who were in favor of joining region in Russia. 21 March 2014 the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the law on ratification of the agreement on joining of Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia and signed the decree about formation of the Crimean Federal district.
