before Thursday, the Verkhovna Rada, after several attempts had adopted anti-discrimination amendment to the Labour rule that prevents the discrimination in recruitment and the workplace on racial, religious and gender or sexual orientation, that was one of the conditions of the EU.

Kiev and the EU are implementing a program of liberalization of the visa regime. The Ukrainian authorities hope to receive a visa-free regime with the European Union in 2016.
