Ukraine does not consider the expansion of Nord Stream is economically justifiable
Ukraine does not consider the extension of the gas pipeline Nord Stream ( "Northern stream" ) economically feasible, said the head of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry Pavlo Klimkin.

"Our position is very clear - we do not believe this Project is economically justified," - said Klimkin in interview to the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, published on the Internet representation of the publication.

"I don't understand how it will help diversify supplies to Europe. After all, here the story is about to bypass not only Ukraine, but also some Central European countries, among them Poland and Slovakia ", - noticed the head of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

according to his statement, the German authorities should assess how the Project "Northern stream-2" in line with European policies and legislation." here it is impossible to reduce everything to pure business. Ahead of us the hard times and huge security challenges, to which we must be responsible " - drew the attention of the outsiders.

the mutual agreement of the shareholders of the project organization New European Pipeline AG, which will deal with the construction of the gas pipeline " Nord stream-2 ", was signed on 4 September during the Eastern economic forum in Vladivostok. The shareholders will enter "Gazprom" (with a share of 51%), E. On (10%), Shell (10%), OMV (10%), BASF/Wintershall (10%) and Engie (9%).

The project involves the construction of 2 pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year from the coast of the Russian Federation through the Baltic sea to the German coast.
