The Austrian government decided to start work on the construction of a fence on the border with Slovenia. In case of deterioration of the situation of migrants, the authorities expect to build a wall from them within 2 days.

The Austrian government has adopted today the decision to start preliminary work for construction of fencing on the 24-km stretch of the border with Slovenia in the area of border-crossing Spielfeld. This was stated by the Minister of internal Affairs of Austria Johanna Mikl-Leitner in consultation with the defense Ministry, reports TASS.

The Minister said that the authorities are ready to immediately begin preparatory work, so that in case of deterioration of the refugee situation, the fence was erected within 2 days. However, she added that the construction boom will begin only if Slovenia does not succeed in defending its own borders from the influx of migrants.

Mikl-Leitner said that the partners in the ruling coalition of the Austrian people's and Social democratic party - agreed to further coordinate the start of construction works. "This will require additional political consultations," she said.
