The head of the National Bank of Ukraine Valeria Gontareva connects the jump rate of the national currency with the regional elections.

"Since March of this year, in practice, the course became more or less balanced situation and a stable situation. What we have observed for the past one week, more was due to the fact that we held Local Elections, and in our country, unfortunately, until now, Elections are perceived excessive exchange rate fluctuations ", - said Gontareva in the interview to television channel.

Elections to local self-government were held in Ukraine on 25 October on a new electoral law. In small towns with population over 90 thousand people, the mayor was elected by a simple majority of votes, in the larger by an absolute majority (50% plus one vote). In 29 major cities, none of the candidates could not gain an absolute majority, and was appointed second round of elections of the mayor which will pass on November fifteen. The results must be made public no later than November 20.

Local Elections will be held in several settlements of Donetsk and Lugansk regions because of the military special operation of Kiev.
