Yatsenyuk: Power will be independent from Russian gas supplies Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk is convinced that power will be independent from Russian gas supplies. Among other things the head of government announced that Kiev may just flatly refuse to fulfill their obligations on the loan.

Ukraine faced serious financial difficulties which are only compounded by the backdrop of energy decline in the country. However, Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk is convinced that the circumstances for concern: all the issues in the shortest time solved, and Kiev will be able to abandon the buy blue fuel from Russia.

"For Ukraine, there is a goal we will achieve. In 10 years Ukraine will be completely energy independent state", - declared the head of the Cabinet in his interview to the TV program "Prime Time" on the Ukrainian "First state" channel. According to the statement of the Prime Minister, the work in this direction already is conducted.

"Especially for this, the government has submitted to Parliament a new law on rent. Not the populist law which my political opponents propose, and the law, which is: the one who produces, one who drills new informants, the one who increases the production of natural gas, receives respectively low rent and gets almost more incentives for investments in gas sector", - quotes Yatsenyuk RIA Novosti.

"Earlier we were dependent on domestic gas to almost 100% imported. Now the share of Russia fell to 30 per cent," he said. Kiev is seeking to diversify gas imports to Ukraine, which amplifies the volume of reverse supplies from the European Union. Turns out the power buys the same Russian blue fuel, but not directly, but through the referees.

Another problem facing Kiev - unaffordable loans. Namely, Ukraine must pay Russia $ 3 billion of debt until December 20. Moscow ready to make concessions: if she will provide guarantees to international players, the amount of payments can be divided into 3 parts. However Yatsenyuk believes that may just turn away to pay the bills and even make demands.

"The basic condition - reducing debt by 20%, transfer all debts over 4 years. Do not want - then you will receive the decision of the government of Ukraine on introduction of moratorium on payment of the Russian Federation 3 billion dollars," he said. "We're $ 3 billion to pay will not" - said the head of Ukrainian government.
