Naftogaz: the disruption of gas supplies to the European Union via Ukraine is unlikely
The likelihood of interruption of gas supplies to the European Union via Ukraine in the winter of 2015/2016 quite low, said the head of "Naftogaz of Ukraine" Andrey Kobelev.

"I would have said that the Probability of such a situation is rather low this winter," he said in an interview to a TV channel on the issue, is there a Danger of the repetition of crises of 2006 and 2009 when Europe was not able to get enough gas because of the difficulties in relations between Kiev and the capital of Russia.

"The main reason is what I mentioned earlier. The market has changed dramatically. There are many vendors who would like to replace, for example, " Gazprom ", if they try to repeat gas crisis of 2009, for example ", he added.

The gas conflict between Russia and Ukraine several times affected the supply of Russian fuel through Ukraine to the European Union. Thus, on 1 January 2009 Gazprom cut gas supplies to Ukrainian customers due to the lack of contract, and on January 7 over gas supplies to the European Union, because Ukraine has blocked transit gas pipelines. Most European countries, most importantly in Eastern Europe, has faced obstacles in ensuring household and industrial gas customers." "Gazprom" on January 13, tried to restore gas transit to the European Union, but Ukraine has rejected bids for pumping gas.

at the turn of 2005-2006, the conflict over gas prices for Ukraine resulted in its short-term disconnect and failure of deliveries to the European Union." Gazprom " on 1 January 2006, was forced to halt deliveries to Ukraine for lack of agreement, the Ukrainian side has started unapproved selection intended for European gas." Gazprom " had to compensate for the lost Europe volumes of fuel.
