Scientists have found a new difference between the sexes Experts uncovered that the brain of a representative of the stronger sex and women in the orientation in space functions differently. Thus, adherents of the stronger sex quickly reaches the point of destination.

Scientists from the Norwegian Institute of science and technology identified the fact that men are better with spatial problems, informs EurekAlert. "The sense of direction of the representatives of the stronger sex more productively. They are simply faster able to reach the destination", explains the scientist, the doctor of medicine Carl Pentzke.

As experts explain, these differences are due to the process of evolution. Thus historically constituted, that the representatives of the stronger sex were hunting and girls gathering. During the experiment, scientists decided to see how this distinctive feature of gender is correlated with sex hormones. Based on the results of MRI (magnetic resonance imaging)the experts found that during the orientation the representatives of the stronger sex and women use different areas of the brain (hippocampus and frontal lobe, respectively).

However, when implementing the fairer sex testosterone found that they begin to apply the hippocampus to the same extent as a rule it is used the stronger sex. This confirms the interconnectivity of the sense of direction of sexual hormones. According to the opinion of scientific workers, representatives of the two sexes use different navigational strategies. With that, she was a man at the expense of hippocampus - a more flexible and efficient.

So, focusing on the territory, the stronger sex will be repelled from the General direction in which it should move. The girls are determined to a greater extent, starting from the section of the line on which they currently reside.

Loss of sense of direction in humans is considered to be one of the signs of Alzheimer's disease. Based on the acquired knowledge, the experts are hoping to move in the view of developing the disease and to find methods to overcome confusion for those who already put such a diagnosis.
