Iraqis flee from Mosul Iraqi forces entered the city of Mosul, controlled by ISIS for about 2 years and met with stiff resistance. Aid groups have warned for several months that the campaign in Mosul could lead to a humanitarian disaster.

Already 18 thousand Iraqis were forced to leave their homes because of the attack on Mosul, which was launched on October 17 in accordance with the International organization for migration. The Agency warns that there will be an even greater shift, especially now, when the battle underway in the streets of the second largest city of Iraq. It is believed that as many as 1.5 million people are still living there.

The Iraqis rushed down to the main road to the East, towards the border with the Kurdish regions of Iraq. They risked everything to leave their homes, through the fire and traps that gave the ISIS militants.

Some rode in their own cars. They waved flags out of white polyester, although the international symbol of surrender does not guarantee anything in this unconventional war against an unconventional violent jihadists.
