India needs new fighter jets. Leading manufacturers of the world are lining up to provide them.

The government of the South Asian countries have sent letters to several companies regarding a new fleet of military aircraft that will be produced jointly with local firms. The potential deal, according to experts, could cost up to $12 billion.

The country is faced with a higher price list for fighters, as government regulations require that most of the production took place in India. Requirement, which is part of the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra modi "Made in India", believed to have been a checkpoint in the latest deal, military aircraft of India with France.
